We are proud to share with you the introduction of IGM Resins’ new product Omnipol® BL 582, the latest addition to the aromatic glyoxylate family of photoinitiators. This new polymeric Type II photoinitiator is designed to meet the demanding requirements of food packaging and other sensitive applications, combining high performance with safety and sustainability.
From the early stages, IGM envisioned a new glyoxylate chemistry with three reference products: a cornerstone photoinitiator, a polymeric variant, and a self-curable formulation, forming a complete product family. In 2024, IGM introduced Esacure® 563, the first photoinitiator in this series, designed to deliver low-yellowing performance for LED applications.
Today, IGM has announced the next step: Omnipol® BL 582, a polymeric aromatic glyoxylate developed for food packaging and other sensitive applications. This is just the beginning, the third member, a self-curable glyoxylate, will soon follow, completing this pioneering launch program.
